Warwick Lister

Warwick Lister (CFA’70) of Florence, Italy, published Tempo Rubato: Memoirs of a Rank-and-File Musician (WWL Publications, 2024), in which he looks back on a long career of orchestral, string quartet, and academic positions on both sides of the Atlantic. In Florence, he played in the orchestra of the Maggio Musicale for 18 years and, among other projects, wrote an acclaimed biography of violinist-composer G. B. Viotti. “I think the reader will find in these pages a much more intimate and representative glimpse into the life of a ‘normal’ musician, a rank-and-filer, than in the autobiography of a celebrity,” Warwick writes.
