Tulasi Srinivas
Tulasi Srinivas (UNI’01) of Arlington, Mass., published The Goddess in the Mirror: An Anthropology of Beauty (Duke University Press, 2025), which explores the gendered world of beauty through the experiences of women who visit contemporary Indian beauty salons. Tulasi is a professor of anthropology at Emerson College and is a member of the affiliated faculty for BU’s Center for the Study of Asia within the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies. She is also the author of The Cow in the Elevator: An Anthropology of Wonder (Duke University Press, 2018).
