Tina Traster
Tina Traster (COM’83) of Valley Cottage, N.Y., launched the online publication Rockland County Business Journal (rcbizjournal.com). “Until now, Rockland has not had an independent journal entirely focused on business,” she writes. “Rockland County Business Journal covers every facet of business—from solo entrepreneurs to corporate entities. Daily postings include breaking news, profiles, features, briefs, and columns. Experts are invited to submit columns on relevant and timely topics. The site is monetized through advertising and sponsorship.” Tina has lived in Rockland County for 14 years. She has worked for Crain’s New York Business, and has written real estate stories for the New York Post and a personal column called Burb Appeal. Her work has appeared in many newspapers, magazines, and literary journals, including the New York Times, Huffington Post, the Daily Beast, the Atlantic, Redbook, Family Circle, Parade, Time Out New York, Audubon, and Ski magazine. She is the author of the award-winning memoir Rescuing Julia Twice: A Mother’s Tale of Russian Adoption and Overcoming Reactive Attachment Disorder (Chicago Review Press, 2014). She also directed and produced two documentaries, This House Matters (2016) and Catnip Nation (2017). Contact Tina at ttraster@aol.com.
