Thomas Lehrich
Thomas Lehrich (Questrom’87) of Washington, D.C., published the fifth book in his Adventures of Backpacker Billy and Shave series, Backpacker Billy Visits Colorado Darren (2025), which he released through his new publishing company, Red Barn Publishing. The series’ latest installment invites readers to join our heroes “in this Rocky
Mountain adventure, learning about the alpine habitat and finding bighorn sheep, marmot, moose, and Colorado black bears,” he writes. Also in 2025, Thomas became CEO of the ALS Performance Research Foundation, a start-up nonprofit. “With brain research as one of the last frontiers in medical research, I am thrilled to be part of this innovative team,” he writes. “It is also a personal and professional homecoming,” as he now works side by side with
college classmates Francis Conidi (CGS’85, CAS’87, GRS’91), team neurologist for the NHL’s Florida Panthers, and
Robert Palmer (ENG’88), a biomedical engineer who heads the foundation’s research. “For the California family and
friends,” Thomas adds, “I hope to see you from time to time, as members of our team are located in Los Angeles.”
