Susan Walsh
Susan Walsh (COM’87) of Annapolis, Md., a retired Associated Press staff photographer, was honored in September with a 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award from the White House News Photographers Association (WHNPA). Susan advanced the field of photojournalism, especially for women photojournalists, according to the association. She began her career in Massachusetts, at the Springfield Union-News, before joining the AP in 1991. She joined AP’s Washington team in 1997. Her photo of President Bill Clinton, with Hillary Clinton by his side while he thanked Democratic members of the House who voted against his impeachment, won a team Pulitzer Prize for AP’s coverage of the Clinton impeachment. Susan was only the second woman elected president of the WHNPA, in 2001, and served for five years.
