Sean D. Noel
Sean D. Noel (CAS’94, MET’02) of Waltham, Mass., was appointed University archivist at BU in June. He oversees the institutional archives and special collections, including materials related to Elie Wiesel (Hon.’74), Howard Thurman (Hon.’67), and Martin Luther King, Jr. (GRS’55, Hon.’59). Sean, who began his library career at BU in 1996, also serves as historian for BU’s Phi Beta Kappa chapter. He completed his PhD in library and information science at Simmons University in January. He and his wife, Hilary, who was BU’s director of catering when they met, were married at Marsh Chapel and later welcomed daughter Cecelia (Wheelock’26). “BU isn’t just where I work,” Sean writes. “It’s where I have been lucky enough to build my life.”
