Sasha Rolon Pereira
Sasha Rolon Pereira (CGS’99, CAS’01) of Stamford, Conn., is associate director of education for the Gilder Lehrman Institute (GLI) for American History, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving history education. Sasha was involved from the onset in the creation of the institute’s Hamilton Education Program (HEP), an educational program that has been touring the country since March 2016. She is the program director for HEP, which provides students the opportunity to experience the musical Hamilton after having spent several weeks in their classrooms studying American history through a special integrated curriculum about Alexander Hamilton and the nation’s Founding Fathers. One of the institute’s several history education programs, HEP was devised in New York with Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, producer Jeffrey Seller, the Rockefeller Foundation, and the New York City department of education. Acting as the liaison between the institute, its partners, and the Miranda family, Sasha helped the educational arm of Hamilton become a reality for 20,000 students from Title 1 schools across America. As HEP travels throughout the country, Sasha oversees logistics for each HEP performance.
