Sasenarine Persaud

Sasenarine Persaud (GRS’06) of Tampa, Fla., recently traveled to Guyana to deliver an address to the class of 2025 graduates of Saraswati Vidya Niketan, a nongovernmental organization and not-for-profit secondary school. He received an award from the school for his contributions to literature. The citation reads, “Guyana’s Most Outstanding Poet, Essayist, and Writer Grounded in the Parampara of our Hindu Ancestors.” The Guyana Sunday Chronicle published a favorable review of his latest poetry collection, A Scent of India (Mawenzi House Publishers, 2025).
