Richard Yeo

BU Athletics honored 91-year-old Richard Yeo (CAS’55) for his decades of Terrier hockey fandom at the March 6, 2025, game against Providence College at Agganis Arena. They paid tribute to him with an announcement over the PA system and a personalized jersey with the number 33, his birth year. Yeo, whose uncle, J. Wendell Yeo (Wheelock’29,’32), was a Wheelock College of Education & Human Development dean, attended his first Terrier hockey game in 1951. He took his future wife, Elinor, to hockey games on their first dates, and they regularly attended home games until her death in  2023. He now watches most BU games on ESPN+, emailing scouting reports to friends. He is pictured with Jake Maliel (Questrom’03) (left) and Steve Holt, a BU senior editor-writer. That night, the men’s team also honored and delighted Yeo by shellacking the Friars, 8-2.
