Linda N. Edelstein (DGE’66, COM’68) of Evanston, Ill., published her sixth book, Not the Trip We Planned (Koehler Books, 2025), with coauthor Carol Kerr. The story follows best friends Chickie and Maddy, who are summoned to Chicago to help an old friend piece through a mystery left behind by her dead husband. “As women of a certain age, they already know that being well-behaved is boring, so when they discover a late-life penchant for unraveling secrets, it’s more engaging than Wordle,” writes Linda. “Not the Trip We Planned is an irreverent mystery about enduring friendship, aging, and skills acquired later in life.” Email the author at l.edelstein@sbcglobal.net.
