Kimberly Moffitt

Kimberly Moffitt (COM’94) of Owings Mills, Md., was appointed by Governor Wes Moore to serve on the state’s public broadcasting commission, Maryland Public Television’s 11-member governing body. Kimberly was named dean of Howard University’s Cathy Hughes School of Communications in 2025. She is a former dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences and professor emerita of language, literacy, and culture at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She is president of the National Association for Media Literacy Education and is an advisor to Maryland Public Television’s Maryland Center for Media Literacy & Education.
