Joy Huber
Joy Huber (MET’18) of Milford, Nebr., is a stage-4 cancer survivor who battled the disease as a young adult. She is the author of Cancer with Joy: How to Transform Fear into Happiness and Find the Bright Side Effects (Morgan James Publishing, 2012). In 2018, she earned a master’s degree in health communication from BU. “I utilized the knowledge in the program to repurpose content from my book into an on-demand video course available on sites including Skillshare and Udemy,” she writes. The video course, called Living Well With Cancer, “does not just list links to helpful websites,” she writes, “but guides participants around resources showing them exactly where to click to quickly get to important information, saving critical time, energy, and even money.” Joy is also a professional speaker who lectures at hospitals, cancer treatment centers, churches, and cancer survivor events.
