Jane Berryman (CAS’84, COM’84) of Philadelphia, Pa., writes, “Visitors to Philadelphia who are celebrating the nation’s semiquincentennial in 2026 will notice Little Free Libraries scattered around the historic district at key sites, such as Elfreth’s Alley and the Betsy Ross House, thanks to an initiative I’ve spearheaded as librarian for the Independence Hall Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution.” Jane’s DAR chapter is encouraging “long-form reading” for all ages, as well as getting books into the hands of underserved students. “We welcome donations and encourage everyone to support Little Free Libraries in their own communities,” she adds.
