Ivan Gulas

Ivan Gulas (CGS’67, CAS’69) of Los Angeles, Calif., published Changing the Odds: A New Understanding of PTSD and the Path to Recovery (Salisbury & York, 2026). A former Harvard Medical School faculty member for nearly 20 years, Ivan draws on decades of clinical experience, including work with Vietnam veterans before post-traumatic stress disorder was formally recognized—and his own childhood experience as a survivor of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. The book introduces an original framework for understanding how trauma disrupts the brain’s threat assessment system. Learn more at www.changingtheodds-ptsd.com, and email Ivan at drgulas@gmail.com.
