Fern Remedi-Brown

Fern Remedi-Brown (Wheelock’85) of Malden, Mass., founded the nonprofit Sowing Opportunities in 2018. Based in Massachusetts, the nonprofit provides infrastructural resources to rural, Indigenous, and remote communities in Guatemala. “During the pandemic and in hurricane season, we were delivering groceries to the entire village,” she writes, referring to the first community her group worked with. “Now, they are able to feed themselves with the harvest of their crops.”
