Deborah Katchko-Gray

Deborah Katchko-Gray (Wheelock’79) of Ridgefield, Conn., released Sacred Sounds Reborn, an album of nusach music, which in traditional Jewish liturgy refers to the correct wording, order, or style of a holy text. Deborah is a cantor, an educator, and a vocalist. Of her voice, the late Elie Wiesel (Hon.’74), author, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, and BU Andrew W. Mellon Professor Emeritus in the Humanities, remarked, “Debbie will enable you to hear and feel the exquisite yet melancholy beauty of Jewish melodies that must never be forgotten.”
