Conor Carlin
Conor Carlin (Pardee’98) of Plymouth, Mass., addressed the UN General Assembly in Geneva in August, during global plastics pollution treaty talks. “Plastics have transformed the modern world by delivering lightweight, durable, and cost-effective solutions in medicine, food preservation, renewable energy, clean water, mobility, and countless other fields,” he said in his remarks. “We are equally aware, however, that the growing volume of plastic waste, mismanaged in the environment, presents urgent challenges that must be addressed with integrity and urgency.” Conor is the former president and board member of the International Society of Plastics Engineers, and continues to work at the nexus of materials, energy, and sustainability.
