Babak Bina

Babak Bina (MET’88) of Boston, Mass., recently launched three restaurants in Boston’s Downtown Crossing: Somaek, serving authentic Korean
food; Temple Records, a vinyl record bar with Japanese-inspired cocktails; and Sushi @ Temple Records, an 18-seat sushi restaurant below Temple Records. Babak has been in the city’s restaurant industry for 40 years and has collaborated with beloved local haunts like jm Curley, Bogie’s Place, The Wig Shop, and Bin 26 Enoteca. With his sister Mandana Bina (CAS’81), Babak owned and operated Lala Rokh, a Persian restaurant in Beacon Hill, until its closure in 2018.
