Annalisa Dias (CAS’10) of Baltimore, Md., launched Start with the Ground: A Journal on Decolonization with coeditor Tara Moses, a BU College of Fine Arts lecturer in theater. The periodical, published through Annalisa and Tara’s organization Groundwater Arts, is an interdisciplinary publication that brings together Indigenous artists, writers, and community leaders to explore the intersections of decolonization, climate justice, and artistic practice. The project emerged from seven years of Groundwater Arts’ commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and community-building. With support from the Mellon Foundation and the JKW Foundation, it also represents a significant invest - ment in decolonial arts practice and Indigenous artistic expression.
