Alvin M. Daniels
Alvin M. Daniels (CGS’86, COM’88) of Chicago, Ill., has had his own production company for 32 years. He has had a few shows that he produced on local TV, but now a couple of his series are on Amazon Prime. The first is a docuseries, called First Steps, which tells the story of an organization in Chicago that is helping the city’s youth with life skills through basketball. The second docuseries is Preachers Kids: The Untold Stories, a historical, yet funny look at the church from the view of the preacher’s kid. It is an extension of a stage play by the same name that traveled the country for the last 12 years. Alvin, who also has had two Emmy-nominated programs on PBS, is a professor of communication at Chicago State University and National Louis University.
