Not a scene from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Intermediate ladies freestyler Kristen Spielbauer, from the University of Miami in Ohio, catches some air at the National Collegiate Figure Skating Competition held at Brown Arena on Saturday, March 24. BU's Figure Skating Club hosted the daylong event, which included men's and women's short programs, solo dance, free skating, and team maneuvers. BU's Terrierettes, the University's synchronized skating team, recently placed ninth overall and second among the teams from the east at the 2001 U.S. Synchronized Team Skating Championship in Colorado Springs, their first-ever appearance at the competition.
