As scientists become part of larger teams and join broader and more diverse scientific endeavors, we must all become leaders in creating a culture of safety and trust that facilitates strong cross-disciplinary collaboration and exciting scientific discoveries. Dr. Iversen will discuss more than a decade of experiences in developing a culture of ‘team science’ within a large Arctic project that encompasses more than 100 scientists with a range of experience levels, backgrounds, and scientific interests. Afterward, we invite the ORISE community to participate in a series of tabletop exercises, where we consider ‘what if’ scenarios in a series of facilitated breakout sessions that focus on the many aspects of team science, including authorship, mentoring, data sharing, and more.
