Panelists include: Azer Bestavros (moderator) - Boston University Warren Distinguished Professor of Computer Science + Associate Provost for Computing & Data Sciences. Azer Bestavros is the inaugural Associate Provost for Computing & Data Sciences appointed in 2019 to oversee the development and launch of the Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences (CDS) a university-wide tenure-home and degree-granting academic unit focused on broadening BU's footprint in computational and data-driven research as well as introduce new educational pathways for all students to gain computing, data science, and AI skills. Peter Bernard (ENG'88) - CEO, EDGE AI FOUNDATION Pete Bernard spent 14 years in Silicon Valley and 18 years at Microsoft pushing the envelope of edge computing products, services, and partnerships. After receiving a B.S. in Computer Engineering at Boston University, Pete worked at Phoenix Technologies as a BIOS Developer and Product leader, eventually moving to Santa Clara, CA to focus on APAC and Japan markets. He was VP of Products at E-Color, a revolutionary color correction image services start up in San Francisco before joining Insignia Solutions as Chief Product Officer, where he drove innovations in embedded Java and FOTA technologies with major telcos and device developers and technology partners including Qualcomm and Microsoft. Pete founded EDGECELSIOR in 2023, a new type of "Technology Practice" at the intersection of semiconductors, 5G and AI. He holds seven patents in security, imaging, smart wearables, and music streaming, and can be heard at various industry events or podcasts. He has been the Executive Director of the EDGE AI FOUNDATION since April of 2024. Monica Greenberg (LAW'94) - EVP, Chief Legal & People Officer, LivePerson Monica has extensive experience in executive management in the software and internet industries. She oversees a wide variety of corporate and strategic matters at LivePerson, including strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial transactions as well as the company's corporate legal affairs. Prior to joining LivePerson, Monica served as VP, general counsel of Nuance Communications, Inc., a leading provider of speech recognition software. Previously, Monica was associated with the law firms of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto, CA, and Willkie Farr & Gallagher in New York, NY. Monica holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from Boston University School of Law. Mamta Rodrigues (CAS'95) - President, Banking Financial Services & Insurance, Teleperformance Mamta Rodrigues, member of TP's Management Committee, is Global President at Teleperformance where she leads the Banking Financial Services & Insurance vertical. Mamta manages over 300 clients globally and has full responsibility for supporting the client expansion plans and leveraging the best assets to build, support and grow the business unit globally. She is also Co-Chair of TP Women and Board member in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
