Dr. Tremaglio is an Assistant Professor of Biology at the University of Saint Joseph, a primarily undergraduate institution in West Hartford, Connecticut. She teaches courses in introductory and advanced cell biology, microbiology, and scientific writing, for biology, nursing, and health sciences majors. She also maintains a small, undergraduate-driven research lab that works on viruses. Dr. Tremaglio received a B.S. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Connecticut and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the Boston University School of Medicine, and she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. After finishing her postdoc, Dr. Tremaglio explored alternative career options, working as a freelance science and educational content writer and illustrator, before starting a tenure-track position in 2020.
