BU IRB Internship
Description of Internship Project: The Charles River Campus (CRC) Institutional Review Board (IRB) is responsible for reviewing and approving all human subjects research that is conducted by CRC faculty, staff, or students. This internship will provide an opportunity for the intern to learn about the IRB process for reviewing human subjects research and the corresponding federal regulations.

- Gain experience with the IRB review process
- Learn about the regulations that govern the ethical review of human subjects research
Responsibilities of the Intern:
- Enter data from IRB submissions into the IRB database
- Filing of IRB records
- Conduct administrative review of IRB submissions
- Attend the monthly IRB meeting
- General administrative support
- Assist with maintaining IRB website
- Answer phones and triage questions from investigators
- Create submission reports
- Assist with monitoring the IRB inbox
Description of Deliverables at Completion of Internship:
- Ability to complete administrative review of IRB submissions independently
- Contribute to creating a user manual for the IRB database
- Able to triage IRB submissions to the appropriate category of review
- Manage data entry into IRB database

Skills/Experience/Qualifications of Intern:
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Desired Start Date: ASAP
Desired Time Commitment: 10 hours/week with the ability for a gradual increase up to 40 hours/week.
Compensation: $22/hour
