Boston University School of Medicine and Metropolitan College is hiring part-time course educators to teach evening courses on the Medical Campus. Spring 2020. Not benefits eligible. No relocation support or visa support is available for these positions.

 

GMS BT 342 Cell Biology [4 credits] Pre-requisites: successful completion of a college level mathematics course of algebra (or higher).  GMS BT 110, GMS BT 208, and GMS BT 301.  Required for BLCS majors.

 

This is a foundational Biomedical Laboratory & Clinical Sciences program course that introduces students to eukaryotic cell structure and function; and covers various cellular components including plasma membrane, mitochondria, and the cytoskeleton, examining their roles in the cell.  Additionally, students explore essential cellular processes including cell communication and the cell cycle.  The course also highlights the unique features of some specialized cell types such as germ and stem cells.

 

Course educators are expected to develop and teach the course. The course educator will collaborate with the Director of Biomedical Laboratory & Clinical Sciences Program.

 

Required Skills

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications: prior teaching experience, biomedical research experience, ability to teach at the undergraduate level.
