Job Description

Boston University School of Medicine and Metropolitan College is hiring part-time course educators to teach evening courses on the Medical Campus. Spring 2020. Not benefits eligible. No relocation support or visa support is available for these positions.

 

GMS BT 436 Human Genetics [4 credits]

Pre-requisites:  one semester of biology and two semesters of chemistry, and BT 342 (Cell Bio).

 

This course focuses on human genetics with a strong emphasis on the relationship between DNA structure, disease manifestation, and inheritance. The course reviews the molecular mechanisms underlying the flow of information within a cell from DNA to protein, population genetics, genetics of immunity and cancer, reproductive technologies, epigenetics, genomics and cancer stem cells. The class includes lectures, case studies, projects, and student presentations.

 

This course will be offered in Spring 2020.  Course educators are expected to develop and teach the course. The course educator will collaborate with the Director of Biomedical Laboratory & Clinical Sciences Program.

 

Required Skills

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications: prior teaching experience, biomedical research experience, ability to teach to undergraduate students.
