Jae Han

Hometown: King of Prussia, PA

Bio: Hi !! My name is Jae Han (she/her) and I’m a sophomore majoring in Psychology in CAS with a minor in music! Crazy to say, but I’ve been playing clarinet for a decade now, playing all of the clarinets, alto and soprano saxophones, and trumpet. I’ve been marching for five years now, and in the past I served as section leader for two years and Drum Major my senior year of high school. You can find me in other BU Bands ensembles like Pep Band (on trumpet!) and Concert Band :) Beyond all the music stuff, I love exploring everything else Boston has to offer, finding new places to eat, hanging out with friends, bird-watching, and trying new things! I also play a handful of video games, and I could talk/listen to just about anything, so please feel free to reach out!

What is your favorite part of being a band member? The Allentown Collegiate Festival is easily my favorite memory because it was such a meaningful full-circle moment. Returning to my home state, this time as a performer instead of a spectator, really showed me how much I’ve grown! Between the traveling (watching movies and going to Wawa) and seeing other college bands, I felt such a sense of belonging. Our performance was the highlight, though. The weather was perfect, and we sounded great. I also got to introduce my family to my new BU home, and in just a month, I found an ensemble that perfectly captures my love for music and community!
