Iker Pérez
Marching Band & Pep Band Clarinet Section Leader
Hometown: El Paso, Texas
Bio: Hi, welcome (in customer service voice)! I’m double majoring in Math and Sociology, and I’ve been playing the clarinet for 8 years. I can play every clarinet – except the Eb, since I’ve never had the chance – and Spanish is my first language. I currently serve as the secretary of the sisters of Tau Beta Sigma. Outside of my super awesome band activities, I love to play volleyball (pull up to open rec on Fridays and Saturdays with me), go rock climbing, go to the gym, or play pickleball with your DM/sax SL Cc Teigeiro.
What is your favorite part of being a band member? My favorite part of being a band member is meeting people from all walks of life! So many unique people join the band, and they’ve had so many life experiences that are super interesting to hear about. I’ve seen that there is something to learn from every person in the band, and discovering what each person has to show you is definitely the best aspect of being in these ensembles!
