Gabby Tober
Front Ensemble Instructor, Arranger
Gabby is a passionate percussionist, educator and arranger in the Greater Boston area. As a performer in the marching arts, Gabby has been a part of the Spartans Drum and Bugle Corps, Spirit Winter Percussion, and the Boston Crusaders. Gabby graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Studies from UMASS Lowell in 2019, and has since gone on teaching in both private institutions full time and working with different school’s extracurricular programs. Gabby has worked with front ensembles all over the New England area, in different age groups ranging from high school, to collegiate, to mixed age/independent organizations. In the drum corps arena, Gabby started teaching with the 7th Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps in 2019 and served as a Caption Head for their 2021 season, as well as hopped on tour with the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps for their 2021 Celebration Tour. As a practicing musician today, Gabby is currently exploring her long held passions of electronic music/composition and DJing, and is well-known in the BU Band Program as practitioner of care and mindfulness, especially through her love of yoga.
The 2023 Marching Band season marks Gabby’s fifth year with Boston University, and her third year as the front ensemble arranger. She’s worked intimately with the percussion section for both Fall Marching Band and Spring Drumline, including organizing a collaboration between the BU front ensemble and the Boston Crusaders for their 2022 Holiday Campaign. Gabby cherishes the community she has found in the BU Bands and is super excited and honored to be spending another season with the BU Band!
