Amara Stegis

Hometown: Honolulu, Hawaii

Bio: Hey there! My name is Amara and I’ll be one of the Drum Majors for the 2025 Marching Band season. Outside of Marching Band, you can find me with a tuba on my shoulder in the BU Pep Band. I’m currently in my third year of the the Sargent College BS/DPT 6-year accelerated program, which means I’m graduating in 2029 (yikes) and hopefully by then I’ll have adapted to/made peace with East Coast weather. Other than music, I like to spend my time wandering through Boston, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and eating good food.

What is your favorite part of being a band member? I love the energy that the band brings every time we get together. From high stakes men’s hockey games to a random Tuesday marching rehearsal we’re always able to have a good time while getting things done.
