Pep Band Rhythm Section Auditions
Fall 2025
The Pep Band relies on confident performance by the individuals of the rhythm section. Due to the nature of these positions, it is necessary that students have prior experience performing on their instrument of choice, particularly in a band setting. If you are a new rhythm section member, follow the steps below. Returning members do not need to audition.
To Audition for the Pep Band Rhythm Section:
Step 1: Complete the Join Form
(REQUIRED) Complete the Join Form so that we can notify you throughout the summer about auditions, etc.
Step 2: Prepare your Audition
- Auditions are meant to be enjoyable and stress-free. We just want to hear you play! Have fun with these, and simply show us what you’ve got.
- All new students will first audition via video (videos due by Mon. August 11 at 11:59 PM – see below for details).
- You may submit one video of all three tunes, or separate videos of each tune.
- Once we receive your video, we will then send you info about attending live auditions (we will be in touch between August 16-26).
- Live auditions will occur on campus in the first week of September and be comprised of the same material – it’s just a chance to get to know you in person!
- Results will be announced by the end of the first week of classes.
How to submit your video audition:
- Upload your video(s) to Youtube and email link to smamoun@bu.edu by 11:59 PM, August 11, 2025.
- You will then receive info about live auditions by August 26 (live auditions will occur on campus in the first week of September).
