Leanne Parks

Hometown: Wichita, Kansas

Bio: Hi, my name is Leanne Parks and I’m studying Acting in the College of Fine Arts! I have been playing electric bass since I was 9, and joined pep band’s bass section my freshman year. My five string bass is my baby, and I have played in many rock bands and ensembles with her, most notably I was able to play at NAMM with one of my rock bands! Outside of pep band, I’m part of BU’s Dance Theater Group, work at Agganis Arena, and I am in an acapella group called Bassline!

What is your favorite part of being a band member? Since I am part of the rhythm section, I get the opportunity to see the whole band during most games as we’re up on a platform. Being able to see all the people I’m making music with is so wonderful because I can hear and see the community we’ve cultivated as part of BU Bands. I also just love being able to play bass from anywhere between 1-3 hours with a bunch of other talented musicians!
