2023 Band Camp Daily Schedule

MONDAY 8/28

Uniform Sizing Location: College of Fine Arts (CFA) – 855 Commonwealth Ave., Boston MA 02215.

  • Color Guard does not need to get sized for a uniform.
  • Be sure to schedule a time for your uniform fitting HERE if you have not done so already (and read the description thoroughly).

Dinner: The first meal provided for all members at Band Camp will be dinner on Monday 8/28 at Warren Towers Dining Hall (700 Commonwealth Ave, Boston MA 02215).

Check-In and Welcome Meeting Location: Band Room – 300W Babcock St, Boston MA 02115

  • 5:00-6:45 PM – Open window to check-in and retrieve your equipment.
  • 7:00 PM – WELCOME MEETING – the official start of Band Camp!!! (Those not in Marching Band 101 session are done at 8p or completing uniform fittings)
  • 8:00p – Marching Band 101 – Fundamentals session for those new to the Marching Band activity!
  • 9:00p – Done

TUESDAY 8/29

  • 7:00-7:40a – Breakfast (AT WARREN TOWERS DINNING HALL)
    • 7:40a – 8:00a – Transit Time Warren Towers to Nickerson Tennis Courts
  • 8:00-8:20a – Stretch
  • 8:20a-12:00p –  BLOCK 1
  • 12:00-1:00 – Lunch
  • 1:00-5:00 – BLOCK 2
  • 5:00-6:30 – Dinner
  • 6:30-9:00 BLOCK 3
  • Snack / Social Event

WEDNESDAY 8/30

  • 7:00-7:40 – Breakfast
  • 7:40-8:00 – Stretch (Nickerson Tennis Courts – rain location Track & Tennis Center [TTC])

SUNDAY 9/3

Meals from today onward are on your own – please plan ahead

Front Ensemble sectionals 11:30-2:00 in Band Room (BU Freshmen leave early to grab lunch and head to 2:00 Matriculation in Agganis Arena – 925 Commonwealth Ave, Boston MA 02215).

Guard sectionals 12:00-2:00 in TTC (BU Freshmen leave early to grab lunch and head to 2:00 Matriculation in Agganis Arena – 925 Commonwealth Ave, Boston MA 02215).

Battery 
**Get a good breakfast on your own (dining halls don’t open until 10 AM…)
**Bring uniform undergarments, plus anything else needed for uniform
10:00 – Arrive at Band Room / get into uniform
10:30 – Warm-up & Sectionals begin (Battery in Medium Room)
11:00 – Full run-throughs with Winds (Large Room)
11:20 – Break (bathroom / water)
11:30 – Depart Band Room / Walk to BU Castle
12:00 – Arrive at BU Castle / have water / relax
12:30 – Final run-throughs
12:50 (or earlier) – Band joins Matriculation Walk
1:15 – BU Freshmen leave parade with guide / go to Band Room / change into regular clothes / pizza provided / head to Matriculation for 2:00 PM start (Agganis Arena)
1:45 – All others finish parade

Winds

**Bring red polo for Terrier tailgate (and wear anything on bottom)
10:00 – Arrive at Band Room / get into uniform
10:30 – Warm-up & Sectionals begin (Winds in Large Room)
11:00 – Full run-throughs with Drumline (Large Room)
11:20 – Break (bathroom / water)
11:30 – Depart Band Room / Walk to BU Castle
12:00 – Arrive at BU Castle / have water / relax
12:30 – Final run-throughs
12:50 (or earlier) – Band joins Matriculation Walk
1:15 – BU Freshmen leave parade with guide / go to Band Room / change into regular clothes / pizza provided (or dietary needs) / head to Matriculation for 2:00 PM start (Agganis Arena)
1:45 – All others finish parade / go to Band Room / change into regular clothes / pizza provided (or dietary needs)
2:40 – Call time for all others (non-Freshmen) at Terrier Tailgate **New Location** Next to BUPD station, across from Agganis Arena on Harry Agganis Way (don’t be late!!)
2:45 – Play for Freshmen as they exit Matriculation (with breaks)
– BU Freshmen go put on your red BU Bands polo shirt (with any bottoms) and come join the Band!
3:45 – Move to Nickerson Stands for Terrier Tailgate (Women’s Soccer vs Boston College)
4:00 – Game start
5:00 – Perform a few tunes for halftime
6:00 – Estimated game end
– Winds done
