Alene Bouranova is a Pacific Northwest native and a BU alum (COM’16). After earning a BS in journalism, she spent four years at Boston magazine writing, copyediting, and managing production for all publications. These days, she covers campus happenings, current events, and more for BU Today. Fun fact: she’s still using her Terrier card from 2013. When she’s not writing about campus, she’s trying to lose her Terrier card so BU will give her a new one. She lives in Cambridge with her plants. Profile

  1. What a fantastic way to create a comfort zone for talented students who will find themselves in dining environments as professionals. Leveling the playing field in areas that seem like they don’t matter, but do, is a great opportunity for students.

  2. I was the recipient of the same social instruction in 1971 at the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse. Having the opportunity to learn and practice social graces has served me well for the past 50 years. Acting graciously and respectfully is always a great pathway. Bravo BU!
