Man targets Beacon Street business with pornographic photos
The Boston University Police Department has released a video showing a man suspected of placing pornographic photos under the door of a Beacon Street business.
The BUPD asks anyone with information about the suspect to contact the department at 617-353-2110 or bupolice@bu.edu. You may also send an anonymous text to 847411—type “BU” followed by a space and then your message.
The suspect is a 5-foot-9-inch Hispanic male with a slim, muscular build who speaks Spanish.
The video camera that captured the man was installed by the BUPD outside the business, which the suspect has targeted six times since December, says Detective Lieutenant Peter DiDomenica. The incidents have accelerated, he says. “It was very sporadic, then two incidents back to back” on June 9 and 15.
The business, which DiDomenica declined to identify, is in the 800 block of Beacon Street, between Park Drive and Arundel Street. The BUPD is handling the investigation because the business rents space in a BU property.
The suspect has left sexually explicit photos of a man, apparently himself, under the door of the business during the late evening or early morning hours on six occasions between December 2014 and June 15, the day of the most recent incident. Afterward, he has called the business, referring to the pictures and speaking in Spanish, the detective says. “A motive may be an interest in a worker, kind of an infatuation with a worker there,” DiDomenica speculates.
