A male BU student, identified in an interview with WCVB-TV as Michael Stinnett, a Navy veteran, was allegedly attacked by three people at the corner of Beacon Street and Park Drive at 2:50 a.m. Saturday morning. The Boston Globe reports that Stinnett (CAS’16) told his brother that a car sped by, missing him by inches. When Stinnett yelled at the driver to slow down, the car stopped, three men got out, punched and kicked him, and then fled in the vehicle.
BU spokesperson Colin Riley says the 27-year-old Stinnett lives on South Campus. Boston Police spokesperson Nicole Grant says he was brought to Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he was treated for serious injuries before being released. The incident is being investigated by the Boston Police, with assistance from the BU Police. No arrests have been made.
