  1. This is an interesting discussion, but I think the soul-searching that many journalists are now engaged in is slightly misplaced.

    Fiedler and Pfeiffer noted that the root problem is the changing business model, yet most of the discussions about the declining newspaper industry and the rise of Internet media seem to center around how journalism is changing, and what journalists are doing in the midst of this shift. Shouldn’t more attention be focused on how the business side is adapting? Or is that getting too close to the church/state divide?
