Meet the Cast of Wiesel Play

Director, actors, survivors to discuss Holocaust

Guila Clara Kessous, producer and director of Elie Wiesel’s Holocaust-era play Once Upon a Time, will discuss the 1968 drama with the cast as well as Holocaust survivors. Wiesel’s play was staged for the first time in America last week at BU’s Tsai Performance Center.

The event, which will include food and Yiddish music, takes place Wednesday, December 19th, at 6:30 p.m., at the Conference Auditorium at George Sherman Union at 775 Commonwealth Ave. The date — the 10th of the month Tevet — is significant in the Jewish calendar, Kessous notes, and observed by fasting, mourning and repentance in remembrance of the siege of Jerusalem. The date has also been chosen as a “general Kaddish day” for the victims of the Holocaust, Kessous says.
