On Saturday night, Sargent Gym will be packed with dedicated dancers, along with their supporters, trying to stay on their feet for 18 hours straight. The fifth annual Dance Marathon, a fundraiser run entirely by BU students, starts on March 3 at 3 p.m. and the music doesn’t stop until Sunday, March 4, at 9 a.m. Registration for dancers and moralers — the people who stay on the sidelines and cheer on the dancers — is closed, but the event is open to the public and tickets are $10 at the door. The dancers raise money by getting pledges from friends, family, and organizations, and all proceeds benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, which works to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV, and Camp Heartland, which offers children affected by, or infected with, HIV/AIDS a free week at summer camp. Sargent Gym is at 1 University Rd.
