In California, executives of Hewlett-Packard and private investigators hired by the company face possible indictment by the state’s attorney general for illegally spying on directors who were suspected of leaking sensitive information to the press. That looming threat, as well as publicity about the actions, has devastated the reputation and damaged the value of a company that has been struggling for years to find its feet.
BU Today senior editor Jessica Ullian talked with Jim Post, a School of Management professor, who teaches a course in corporate governance, accountability and ethics, about the damage done and the lessons learned from recent events at Hewlett-Packard.
