Award enables SMG prof to continue leadership studies
Kathy Kram was recently named an Everett W. Lord Distinguished Faculty Scholar at SMG.

Kathy Kram, a professor of organizational behavior at the School of Management, was recently named one of the school’s Everett W. Lord Distinguished Faculty Scholars.
“When I received the award, it was a total surprise to me,” says Kram. The scholars program provides recipients with a two-year stipend, renewable at discretion of the dean. The award is named for SMG’s founder and recognizes outstanding scholarship among senior professors.
Kram says she will use the stipend to hire research assistants and begin new research. Her research focuses on gender and leadership, mentoring and executive coaching and its role in leadership development, and leadership at every life stage. “In today’s global context,” she says, “the pace of change and the need for continuous learning really makes these relationships critical.”
