Aubrey Milunsky speaks on genetics at the Vatican
Aubrey Milunsky spoke about genetics at the Vatican's recent conference on health issues.
Aubrey Milunsky, a School of Medicine professor of human genetics, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and pathology, spoke at the Vatican’s XX International Conference of the Pontifical Council for Health Pastoral Care in November 2005. The Human Genome: Biological, Medical, and Ethical Prospects was the subject of this year’s conference, which focused on health issues relating to the human genome in three stages, reality, illumination, and action, according to the Pontifical Council for Health Pastoral Care.
Milunsky’s speech, titled Judgment, Error, and Negligence in Genetic Aspects of Maternal Fetal Medicine, addressed the factors that go into making clinical decisions. Also director of the University’s Center for Human Genetics, Milunsky has been listed repeatedly in the Guide to America’s Top Pediatricians and has authored, edited or co-edited 22 books.
