Donald Altschiller has successfully developed several research guides.

The Mugar Library’s History Bibliographer Donald Altschiller developed an award-winning research guide proposal recognized by the American Library Association.

Altschiller, who works in the reference and instructional services department, received the Carnegie-Whitney Grant for his research guide proposal “Animal Assisted Therapy: A Guide to the Literature.” Altschiller has produced many research guides for students in the past, including a guide to electronic sources for history research and a guide to sources for book reviews.

The award was created by Andrew Carnegie in 1902 to provide grants up to $5,000 for the preparation and publication of research guides and indexes.
