Men’s Basketball Recognized For Defensive Efforts

After holding opposing offenses to just over 37-percent shooting during the 2004-05 campaign, the Boston University men’s basketball team was recognized by the NCAA for having the lowest opponent field-goal percentage among all Division I schools last season.
The Terriers’ opponents shot 37.1 percent from the floor, slightly lower than Cincinnati’s mark of 37.3 percent. Conference foes had a hard time converting against the BU defense, shooting just 35.7 percent during America East play. In scoring defense, the Terriers were ranked third in the nation, allowing just 55.7 points per contest.
BU compiled a record of 20-9 last season and reached the postseason for the fourth straight year, earning a spot in the National Invitational Tournament for the third time in as many seasons.
Head Coach Dennis Wolff will commence his 12th year at the helm of the BU program when the Terriers open the 2005-06 season on Monday, Nov. 14, at Duke in the 2005 Preseason NIT.
