Bowley wins Fullbright, heads to Taiwan
SDM's John Bowley won a Fulbright Scholar Grant to conduct research in Taiwan.

John Bowley, a School of Dental Medicine professor of dentistry, recently received a Fulbright Scholar Grant to conduct research in Taiwan next summer. Bowley, who specializes in postdoctoral prosthodontics, will work at Taipei Medical University in Taiwan from July 1 to September 1, 2006.
He will work closely with a biomaterials scientist at the university to learn more about tissue engineering as applied to dentistry. He hopes that by delving into this research area, he will be able to “facilitate collaborative research activities between Taipei Medical University and Boston University’s School of Dental Medicine.”
Bowley is currently on a two-month sabbatical in Dunedin, New Zealand, where he is working with two biomaterials scientists. He says that both programs will help him develop new collaborative relationships in his field as well as advance his own individual professional development. “For me, these are opportunities of a lifetime!” he says. “I am happy to assist other Boston University faculty who may have an interest in either program.”
