Wesley J. Wildman is a philosopher and ethicist specializing in understanding complex human social systems and using high-tech methods such as computational simulation, machine learning, and network analysis to study the seemingly intractable problems that arise within those systems. As executive director of the Center for Mind and Culture, he has built a global network of over a hundred researchers and raised millions of dollars to support socially impactful research. Current research projects target problems such as the exploitation of children in the commercial sex industry, suicide, extremist religious violence, domestic violence, wage inequity, leadership power gaps, disproportionate health impacts of COVID, maternal mortality, and immigrant integration, all of which disproportionately impact women and people of color. Professor in Boston University’s School of Theology and the Faculty of Computing and Data Sciences, he has authored numerous books and articles.
