
Caroline Light
Caroline Light is a Senior Lecturer and the Director of Undergraduate Studies in Women and Gender Studies at Harvard University. Light’s first book, “The Pride of Race and Character: the Roots of Jewish Benevolence in the Jim Crow South” was published in 2014 by NYU Press. She frequently appears in the media to discuss the historical context of gun violence and self-defense law, drawing on the findings from her 2017 book, Stand Your Ground: A History of America’s Love Affair with Lethal Self-Defense (Beacon Press).
