Aja Kennedy is a first year Ph.D. student in Economics and Public Policy at Tufts University. Her research interests are in economic inequality, measurement of social welfare, and evaluation of the distributional impacts of public policy. She currently works as a graduate research assistant to Professor Elizabeth Setren on a project that evaluates the impact of the METCO desegregation busing program in Boston Public Schools. Aja has served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Panama and as a State Department Foreign Service Officer in Mexico and Colombia. Aja is originally from Charlotte, NC. She has an MPA in international development from Princeton University and a BA in Spanish and Global Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
