American popular film and television, gender/queer studies, disability studies, cultural history
Zoe Johnson is interested in considering film, television and novels as cultural texts whose stories are imbued with political, ethical and social meaning. They are particularly curious about how stories construct social possibilities and limitations, and encourage us to imagine alternative futures. Her areas of focus include gender/queer and sexuality studies, narrative and performance theory, and medical ethics.
Zoe is a proud representative of the Boston University Graduate Workers Union, as well as a board member for Playset Theater in Silver Spring, MD.
